A unique JAGUAR SS100 made especially by DINKY TOYS LUVERPOOL for JAGUAR COVENTRY. Est. £1800/2000. Late issue with ivory plastic steering wheel, spun hubs, black notched tyres and bright black baseplate - This example comes from a special order made by JAGUAR COVENTRY in 1960 - This item is the highlight of Mr. Cognet's Jaguar model collection (Honorary president of FRENCH JAGUAR DRIVERS CLUB) - Mr. Cognet mentions that a small series of SS100 was ordered from Mr. Andrew Whyte, JAGUAR public relation manager to MECCANO at Liverpool - The old mould already used from 1940 to 1955 was used again but didn't survive after several pressings - Thus in 1960, this new series was never issued officially, except a handful, kept by Sir Whyte to be given to factory managers and to Sir William Lyons, founder of JAGUAR in 1922- UNIQUE MODEL IN MINT CONDITION! EXCEPTIONAL MINT MODEL!
